Lauren Hatcher married her husband, Christian Acosta, on Jekyll Island, GA on Dec. 2,2022. She also received a promotion to Account Manager, Co-Manufacturing at her current company Golden State Foods effective Jan 2.

Jason Kolofske loving his job as a product developer for the cannabis company Curaleaf. He is engaged and will be getting married October 2023.
Maria Leonora dL. Francisco (PhD '09)was recently awarded an 2022 Academy Fellow to the International Academy of Food Science and Technology.

Sudeep Jain (MS ’06) is currently working as Director of Quality Assurance at Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) in Novi, MI. MMPA is a milk marketing and milk product manufacturing cooperative that serves the milk producers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The company markets raw milk and manufactures powdered milks, butter, cheese, and ultra-filtered milk. Sudeep’s team is responsible for quality and food safety of the products, regulatory compliance, and R&D activities. Recently, he has taken over responsibility for Sustainability in MMPA’s processing operations.

Sarah Willett (‘19) got married to biochemistry and molecular biology alumnus José Moran (‘17) on May 20th at Quarters A in Athens, GA.

PJ Milly (BSA '00, MS '03, PhD '07) is Married to USAF Major Myrna Macias-Milly with three daughters: Mauriella (16), Pia (11), and Caliana (8). Milly is currently serving as the VP Operations for Revolver Brewing, LLC in Granbury, TX. He also serves as a Certified Online Learning Facilitator (Online Tutor) for the Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD) Diploma in Brewing, Module 1. Milly is an active member in IFT, MBAA, and IBD.

Maria Brasher had a baby girl named Eloisa on May 29, 2023.

In Memoriam

Charles J. Renschler, age 90 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born on May 12, 1932, in Lackawanna, NY, son of the late Henry and Pauline Renschler. Mr. Renschler attended Morrisville State College, earned his bachelor's degree the University of Georgia, and earned a Master of Science degree from MIT in Food Science and Technology.
