CFS Celebrates 30 Years

The University of Georgia Center for Food Safety is home to some of the world’s leading experts in microbial food protection. This year, it celebrates its 30-year anniversary and mission of conducting research, educating professionals, and promoting understanding amongst food safety experts which has helped to make the global food supply safer for all. The keys to the center’s success are the relationships and partnerships that it has built with public health officials and the food industry through regular events that facilitate the exchange of ideas, solutions and information among food safety professionals.

To mark the anniversary, the center is planning several events throughout the year. The first will be the center’s annual meeting in late March, when a series of talks and roundtables will be dedicated to reflection on CFS’s relevance and impact. Attended by academics, industry professionals and public health officials, the center’s annual meeting serves as the flagship event to unite those most involved in creating a safer food supply.
